Applicants must pass the SERU and speaking and listening assessments to meet the B1 English Language Requirement. A topographical skills assessment is also required unless exempt.

Choose your assessment
Most drivers sit SERU and Topographical. Many also have to pass the Speaking and Listening assessment. Start with whichever one you are sitting first.
Safety, Equality and Regulatory Understanding. Open book, taken on a computer, based on the PHV Driver Handbook.
Route planning and map reading on the new topographical reference map. 100 marks, 70 minutes, two thirds of them for route planning.
TfL's English requirement. Four parts, with a real person over a headset, marked there and then. You can be exempt, so check before you book.

Face to Face Sessions
Get six hours of hands on Topographical training in a small group at our Acton centre, every Thursdays and Saturdays, 11am to 5pm. You will plan real routes with a trainer beside you using the current map, with practical guidance throughout the session.
Every class includes one free week of online mock test access, worth £30. You can continue practising at home after the class, and your route plans can still be submitted to us for marking.

Free tests
They are two different tests, so take whichever one you are sitting, or take both. The SERU test is one full mock set marked instantly. The Topographical test is one route plan and ten questions, with your route marked by hand by a trainer. No card details for either.
